The emedicinehealth link included a lot more information that I felt was important. A link to the bacteria on wikipedia was added so that those interested in that can find more information there, as it is outside the purview of this website.

I want to stress that the note about lack of CAM therapy and advising allopathic therapy is only due to the nature of this disease. The lack of treatment can be hazardous to everyone around you, if infected.
