Kaumarabhritya Tantra

Kaumarabhritya Tantra is a branch of Ayurveda, which deals with the health and diseases of children. [1] [2] This branch of Ayurveda also deals with prenatal and postnatal baby care, and gynecology of mother. It links the mental and physical state of the mother with the health of the child. It gives importance since the conception of the mother. It gives directions regarding the nutritional diet, and regimen and conduct of the mother. Apart from these it also deals with infertility. The causes of infertility and its treatment are described. [citation needed]
Now the this branch of Ayurveda has been established and a seperate post graduate course is being offered. National Institute of Ayurveda, regulated by Government of India, offers MD (Ay) in Kaumara Bhritya (Pediatrics). The course duration is 3 years, which is devided into 2 parts. [3]
