Biofield Flower Therapy

Biofield Flower Therapy is a derivative of homeopathy [1] that seeks to use vibrational patterns inherent within flowering plants to restore biological information transfer within human systems. As such, it is an Energy Medicine of the Zoroastrian tradition. Invented by the late Professor Dr Helmut Meyl from the Institute of Biophysical Naturopathic Programming in Dusseldorf, Germany, BFT is now practiced by healers in Europe and India. Some have said that Meyl's discoveries were actually a re-imagining of earlier Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) concepts [2] .

The modern theory of BFT stems from the knowledge that scalar waves within cells can suffer quantum interference from toxins [3] and other stresses causing cell degeneration and dis-ease. Practitioners are trained to map the human biofield (Human Body Field Scanning)[4] and match the frequency of vibrations to the energy spectra of over one hundred common plants and weeds. Irregularities in the multi-wave bio-feedback can be corrected by application of the appropriate combination of Biofield Flower Remedies.

Meyl was obviously influenced by Rudolf Steiner's anthroposophical principles[5] in developing the therapy. The remedies are prepared by careful harvesting of natural plants at night when their vibrations are not exaggerated by thermal electromagnetic disturbances. The petals from the flowers are soaked in schnapps for six months and then strained through silk. The schnapps[6] is then consumed by the trained practitioner whilst holding a vial of distilled water. The water is then dropped onto lactose pills for easy administration by the patient. It is thought that biophotons are captured by the pills and may transmit the essential photonic vibrational patterns to the light-emitting DNA receptors in damaged cells[7]. Alternatively, the original tincture may be administered by placing one drop on the patients brow, and another on his tongue.

Research into the effectiveness of BFT is in its infancy although several exciting studies are underway at the Shri Vidyadhiraja Homoeopathic Medical College in Kerala, India. Particular success has been demonstrated in treating the hip, the pip[8] , the palsy or the gout.

There is some controversy over the introduction of electronic versions of BFT[9] that use computerised biofeedback quantum probes to produce instant cell scalar induction fields that are indistinguishable from traditional flower remedies. Modern German practitioners appear to be taking the therapy in a different route than the more traditionalist Indian healers. Disputes arise over the different metrics involved and the high cost of such devices.
